Make Money Fast Online by Trying these 5 Ideas

Here are some ideas I have used to make money online fast. There are many out there. I tried to narrow it down to my 5 ideas or general suggestions to make money fast online in 2018.

5 Ideas and Suggestions to Try to Make Money Fast Online

1. Look for Options that Pay Quick

There are some things that pay out every week or less. Fast pay is always a great thing to look for to make money fast online.

For example, the following will pay out every week or once you meet a certain threshold, immediately:

  • 1Q (App)
    • Sign up here: 1Q.com/97goef.
    • Pays to PayPal immediately when you answer a question.
    • Questions pop up depending on demographics and location.
    • Users can choose to receive either 25 cents per question (multi-questions usually pay for each part) or 50 cents.
      • If you choose 25 cents, the app says you are likely to get more questions.
    • I received a lot at first when I signed up.
      • There was time when I did not receive any. Recently they have picked back up. I would suggest keeping notifications on because they do expire.
    • Use my referral link here to sign up: 1Q.com/97goef
      • After signing up you can share yours and get 25 cents per referral.
    • No, you will not get rich fast. But this app will pay you so fast for fast questions, it is worth a try.
  • Spare5 (App and Website)
    • Use my referral link here: https://app.spare5.com/referral/charlot-87
    • If you have at least a balance of $1 on Thursday night, you will receive a payment to PayPal the next day (Friday).
    • Some tasks can be quick and easy. Specifically, the photo taking tasks.
      • Many others are available via the website version. Reviewers have indicated that they have made a bit from this app. Personally I can make a little here and there by taking photos of objects quickly (for not much), but the other tasks usually have qualifiers to complete first. Typically, those are unpaid and to me difficult.
    • Worth a try because, again, some have reported high earnings.
  • Google Opinion Rewards (App)
    • Pays out to PayPal once you reach $2. As soon as you do, the money gets sent.
    • Essentially you answer short questions for a little bit. Not a way to get rich, but a way to get some money with minimal effort. I also like the low pay-out amount.
    • Check out more information in my microtask post here.

TextBroker.com

  • Read my review on this here.
  • If your balance is $10 or more by Thursday night, and you request a payment, then you will receive it on Friday. You can do this each Thursday so long as you have the minimum $10 balance.
  • Note, however, that you do need to first apply to the website.
    • It took a few weeks for me. But, others have said it has not taken as long.
    • Also, after you complete your first 5 articles, your account is temporarily on hold while it is reviewed to determine your new author rating (1-5 stars). The initial rating is based on the writing sample you submit with your initial application to be an author
    • Again, this took a bit longer for me than I believe it takes others. But, I did make over $10 off those and in not much time. However, I was a 4-star author then, which pays more. Still, it is doable.
  • If you need money now, this may not be your best bet unless you are already signed up due to the application.
    • However, it is worth a try if you can write fast and enjoy that. Once signed up, it is nice to know that you have something with work almost always* available.
      • *almost always. A few times I saw little articles available over the summer. This was not often, but I do not use this website very often. Typically, when I sign in, it seems like there are too many articles to sort through.
    • There are usually requests for articles at any time on any day. You pick it up, complete and once approved, it goes to your account. Approval should occur in 3 business days or less. However, there are exceptions to this such as requests for revisions, holidays, etc.
    • Some requestors will approve very fast though, so it does offset a bit.
  • I like knowing that if I need to, I am signed up for this site that will let me get paid on a Friday if I write as many articles as I can that get approved by Thursday night. While some have reported decent earnings from this, or have used it to find clients and build a portfolio, it is nice to have an option that is almost always available with a very consistent payment period.

I will add more apps and websites that pay fast in subsequent posts. For now, I hope this is a good start.

2. Try Some Side Gig Jobs or Temporary Jobs that You Can Sign Up for and Get Going

First up, a note on timing

It is worth noting that some things take time to get started. For example, while TextBroker.com (writing/content mill site) pays out every week, you do need to apply first. So, there are some things that I have found to enjoy and that I now go to if I want to make some money quickly. However, if you are new to these types of apps and websites, I am trying to write this post from that perspective.

This is not to say that you should not try out some of the other ones that may take time to get approved. However, that very much depends on your current needs as the approval time may take a while and there are often no guarantees for approval.

In the meantime, you can check out some side gig type apps.

Why? With a lot of these you can just claim a job that is available after downloading the app and go. There is no approval or upfront time involved (for the most part).

  • Some side gig type apps to consider include: Gigwalk, Field Agent, Observa, Survey Merchandiser, and EasyShift.
    • See my post on side gigs here and my post on temporary jobs here for more information.
    • Note that for some of these, payment can very much vary. At times, I have been paid rather quickly. Other times, however, it can be a bit slow.
    • Observa is about the fastest paying side gig app I have ever encountered.
      • Unfortunately, the shifts are a bit sporadic and sparse in my experience.
      • Of course, you may find a different experience in your area.
  • PrestoInstaShop (App).
    • To make money fast, look for the instant shop jobs as they are typically a claim and go and have much faster pay.
    • How do you know which ones are the instant shops? On the map you will see blue pointers and orange ones. The blue marks on the map are the instant. You can also filter as well.
    • The orange marks on the map can pay quite nicely. These are more the traditional mystery shop apps, and are through Sassie Shopper companies.
    • Some pay MUCH faster than others. Check the FAQs since they typically address that there.

3. Survey Apps and Sites

Another way to make money fast online in 2018 is the tried and true method of surveys. Just choose wisely as there are many out there.

First, check out my posts here for some apps and here for some websites.

  • Some of these have multiple ways to earn money beyond surveys.
  • Honestly, some are much better than others.
  • I would personally look for the ones that give you a high welcome/referral start up bonus.
  • Check out my referral post for codes here.
  • Also, pay attention to how much you need to make to cash-out. If you can start out with a good referral bonus and then cash-out at a low amount, that is good.
  • Additionally, it is good to check how fast they pay out.
    • Typically, this is not an issue for many, but some have been over a week to up to a month.

Suggested ones to try:

  • Oneopinion.com
    • I find the surveys are pretty-doable and was using this one quite a bit for a while.
      • The surveys award out in points.
      • Unlike most survey type sites or apps, you get one suggested survey to take. It will state the time and the amount of points.
    • That may sound annoying, but, less choices saves time and has been shown to yield greater productivity.
      • Simplicity can be great.
    • Sure, some may not pay-out much for the time it takes to complete. However, after a few, you will notice what seems like a normal payout.
      • If you are offered one that is very long for very few points. Come back to the site in a few minutes and see if you get another.
    • It does reward if you disqualify from a survey (10 points for 5 a day), which is nice.
    • Get to 25,000 points and you can get a $25 PayPal card which takes a few days to receive.
    • I think it is certainly possible to spend a few hours (or so – it may need to be over two days since sometimes you run out of surveys available) on this and get that amount and cash out to PayPal.
  • Vindale.com
    • I need to spend more time on this one, but it is highly rated among many.
    • It looks good but I have a general aversion to websites versus apps that I simply find easier.

[TIP: Check out my post on survey websites for my suggestion on how to keep survey websites organize]

  • Toluna (App and Website)
    • Sign up here: https://us.toluna.com/referral/clauren19
    • Another survey platform that is consistently mentioned as by many as one they love and generally highly rated.
    • It has quite a few options for earning points. Some surveys can pay quite high for time involved.
    • Pays in points that you cash out for ecards and other options.
  • FusionCash.com
    • Sign up here: https://www.fusioncash.net/?ref=wanderingformoney
    • Tasks include surveys, videos, and more.
    • Also, this has a great referral program.
    • You can get to the minimum amount to cash out rather fast. But, unfortunately, the payment is a little slow.
  • SwagBucks (multiple apps and website – I would suggest starting with swagbucks.com and if you cannot get enough, download SwagBucksIQ, SwagBucks Local, SwagBucks (the app), and SwagBucks Answer)
  • SurveysOnTheGo
    • Get the app via its website here: http://www.surveysonthego.com/.
    • Best paying ones pay out base off location. For example, if you just visited a store or restaurant it may pay a few dollars-$5 for feedback on your experience.
    • Also, it has some higher paying opportunities.
    • When your balance reaches $10, you can request redeem to PayPal which is sent to PayPal very fast.
  • Grindabuck.com
    • Sign up here: http://grindabuck.com/index?ref=wandering4
    • Has many types of tasks for ways to earn, including surveys.
    • Can redeem your points for PayPal, CryptoCurrency, and many other electronic gift cards.
    • Rewards are delivered fast (gift cards or e-cards via email code) when you select one and redeem.
    • The main kicker is that for your first reward, you do need a bit more points to redeem. However, if you are good with taking surveys, those can rack up a ton of points. Especially the ones on the main page.

4. Receipt Apps and Cash-Back Apps

Ok, you buy these things anyways – or may. Check out my post on receipt apps and the other posts I list in my master savings post list as well for more information.

So how is spending money making money you ask???

  • I am not saying go spend away on things you wouldn’t buy.
  • I am saying to get money back for the things you are buying.
  • Also, if you are able to mix a few such as ones just linked to your card and automated plus ones that want you to go through their app or site, well I have MADE money from shopping a few grocery stores and taking ride-sharing services via this.
    • Yes, I made money. The bill would either be reduced immediately, via a cash-back offer, or a bonus of some sort, and sometimes not even from mixing apps did this happen.

Ibotta

  • With the $10 welcome bonus by signing up using this https://ibotta.com/r/nvwmboe or my referral code (nvwmboe) AND submitting your first successful rebate, you are half-way to the amount needed to cash-out to PayPal.
    • There is a $20 minimum balance required to request to cash-out to PayPal.
    • But once you do, you will see it show up to PayPal really quick.
  • If you hate scanning receipts, check out the online deals that Ibotta has as well.
  • I have racked up a bit from this app. I almost hate myself for not sticking to it. Since I, personally, am not crazy about scanning receipts and barcodes (for some stores) of items.
    • NOTE: Mobile deals are a nice addition but some take a bit of time to post to your account.
    • Receipt type deals are usually posted to your account very fast.
  • Check out the bonuses, which change periodically. Go to Account>Bonuses.
    • These can be awesome and really get you money fast if you are shopping for these items or at these places already. Sometimes it is just based on getting a certain number in a weekend.
    • The bonuses are on top of the rebate you get. Usually you need to do more than one rebate, but one example of a bonus now is an extra $3 when you redeem a Jet offer (the offer is already 10% cash back).
  • Some of these bonuses have led to me saving quite a bit and then with the bonus, at times I was getting back more than I spent. And on things I would use anyways.

Fetch (App)

  • Sign up using my referral code: CJ1GJ.
  • Can add up fast depending on what you buy – some offer big discounts.
  • This one I need to mention because I was into it but stopped for a little. However, one day I then scanned a few receipts. Later, I looked at my balance and had enough to snag a $10 Amazon gift card, which got delivered fast. There are Visa and MasterCard options (among other things) as well.
  • I was surprised how I had that much at that time and just got another one yesterday after a few receipts (bonuses help here too).
  • This app is running more bonuses lately. It is new and growing and is really making an effort to cater to users’ preferences and needs.

Drop

  • Get a bonus upon signing up via my https://b.ewd.io/code?c=janq5 and link an eligible debit or credit card to your account. Also, verify your email address.
  • View my post on easy savings here for more details.
  • If you shop at some featured stores and take advantage of the bonuses, the points can add up fast.

Dosh

  • Get a bonus upon signing up via my link here (https://link.dosh.cash/k7pbuqud9M) and add an eligible credit card to the account.
  • Another app that is similar to Drop with cash back received on places you use your linked card at.
    • How much you get will depend on whether it has places you shop at that frequently.
  • Cash out is available at $25 and you get $5 by using my link.
  • Visit my post on easy savings for more details.

GetUpside

  • Sign up via my referral here: https://upside.app.link/3SXU2
  • Mainly gives cash-back for gas, but some areas, it also has grocery stores and restaurants.
  • You only need a minimum balance of $2 to cash out, which is great in my mind.
  • For more information, check out my post on easy savings.

5. Sell things you don’t need, want and/or use

Check out my post on cleaning out your closet for some ideas on platforms to sell.

Others:

  • eBay and Amazon are still great options for sellers, even the casual seller.
    • Note that for Amazon, it is easier to do if it is an item already posted.
    • This way, you can just sign up as a seller, add your item (maybe you never used it, or you slightly used it or you used it but don’t want it – there are options for how new or used it is), post a price, and, if you do not feel like handling shipping, Amazon offers options for them to handle that, depending on location and item.
  • Consider selling things on platforms/apps that focus on local areas.
    • Note that there are many local selling apps out there.
    • This can be a good way to post and QUICKLY sell an item.
    • Of course, be safe.
    • AND there are even local car selling apps available. If you want to sell your car, this can be a great way to find a nearby buyer fast.
  • Do not ignore local clothes consignment shops or other types of thrift shops.
    • Just try to know the value of your item via a quick Google search before deciding if it is worth it.
    • Good for clothes, which are not very easy to sell online unless you are a retailer.
    • However, for other things, I would check online before trusting that you are being offered a good price.
  • Have an old phone? These can sell for quite a bit.
    • Check around though because some sites offer a lot more than others.
  • If you have unused gift cards sitting around, you can sell them (usually at a discounted price but it is worth it if you will never use it).

Things to consider:

  • It may have cost you a lot of money at one point, but that does not always matter.
    • Some things drop in value very fast.
  • You may have valuable items you have forgotten about sitting around somewhere.
    • Accessories are a good example.
    • Additionally, old toys – depending on the toy – can go for a lot. Try searching eBay and see. If never used and rare (even if it is rare because it was unpopular), you may make a pretty penny if you have that laying around.

Other notes

  • Check out social media.
    • Reddit has good ideas on r/workonline, r/povertyfinance (may provide ideas more on local resources if in a tough situation), r/beermoney, and r/globalbeermoney, to name a few.
    • Additionally, Pinterest and Quora are good resources.
    • BUT: while these are good resources, it is very easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of ideas out there.
  • Moreover, I do not care if someone says they make a million dollars using any app, website, online tool, whatever. If it looks suspiciously good, google it before giving information over.
    • If it does not look like a scam or just wants you to make up an account, well who cares if whoever on the internet said they made a ridiculous amount of money on it.
      • There are many claims out there that some of which I think are copying others to just get traffic.
        • Some may be honest. But all that matters for you is: if you spend some time on something and you really are not making much, two points:
      • If it pays fast and right away without a minimum cash-out amount, maybe put it on the back burner or check in every now and then to just get a little.
        • Usually if they do not have a minimum cash out amount or they have a very small one, they are worth keeping around. Keeping up with getting to minimum balances is a lot of time.
        • Of course, if it takes a very long time for everything and vert little pay though, get rid of it.
      • Those with minimum cash-out amounts: it is tempting not to quit some once you have spent about an entire lifetime on them and you just want to cash out. But, if you have spent a ton of time and have 50 cents and need 25 to cash out….well how many life times do you have?

Final Thoughts

If you have something you know about that works for you to make money fast online in 2018, that may be your best bet. I suggested some things I did when I was new to trying out everything online (so it seems, but there is a lot!). So, I wanted this post to be from that perspective since some have a learning curve, which can be hard. Also, the amount of suggestions out there can be overwhelming.

But, in this post, I added a few that I found out about later. Still, these are ones that I would have been okay with figuring out when I had no clue what to do and believed probably too much stuff out there on the internet about how to make money fast online.

If someone says they make a lot of money on something, try not to get dragged into that idea. It may be true. It may not. But if it is not looking like you are going to after spending some time, move on. There are tons of options to make money fast online. Yet there are also tons of suggestions that may not work for you for any number of reasons.

Finally, try not to stress. If you like something, that can help a lot when faced with the stress of trying to make money fast. After all, thinking about money ALL of the time can make you go a bit crazy. If you can find a few things you enjoy or that teach you something new, it may, if anything, be a good way to balance things out.

Referral codes in general

Note that apps and websites that offer a referral code/welcome bonus can be a great option for new users when looking to make money fast online. If there is a minimum balance amount to cash out, sometimes the referral or welcome bonus can get you there pretty fast. If you hate the app or website once you cash out, that is okay. Just do not underestimate the benefit you can get by signing up new to some of these things that have a bonus for new users.

Until next time
