Side Job Fun – How to Have a Fun with Side Jobs
Here is how to have some side job fun and earn extra money in a way that fits your life and gives you some fun experiences (possibly for free or at a reimbursed or paid amount)
It can be fun to make money. Just find your rhythm. So here are some suggestions for side job fun – have fun making extra money.
Ways to Have Fun Earning Extra Money – Side Job Fun Tips
1. Mix in Other Activities
Going to the gym or store? Then consider some of these ideas:
- Throw in some walking apps. For ideas, see my post on apps that reward you to move.
- Consider if some secret shopping jobs can be thrown in to reimburse you for what you are doing or buying, plus pay you a little extra.
- Or check out some gig jobs apps which can be a great and easy way to collect some money while you are out and about.
- For even more, another post to check out is my post on making extra money over the holidays which talks about how to earn while you shop.
These are all side income mostly. But the income does add up. Also, consider some surveys.
Surveys
For more on the surveys, see these posts:
- Make money with these survey apps.
- 6 websites to make money taking surveys and doing other tasks.
- 5 Survey websites apps to earn money.
For me, incorporating these other activities really makes the time I spend running errands or being at the gym go by faster. Also, see my post on ways to earn rewards while exercising.
Some are legit fun!
But really. This is NOT just limited to errands and exercising. One thing that is great with secret shops is they can provide you with ideas of activities to do. For example, I have seen go-karting, golf, happy hours, movies and more listed as activities that reimburse you plus pay a little extra.
Check out Sassie Shopper and their affiliates (or schedulers) for some potential shops. Jobslinger.com is a great resource to find a bunch of all nearby shops through Sassie Shopper.
2. Do Something You Want to and Get Paid
Secret shopping jobs are great for both doing something you want to and getting some money out of it.
But if you love doing crafts, then consider Etsy. If you love writing, then look into publishing an ebook through Amazon KDP. Love art and digital content? I suggest:
- Checking out some subreddits such as r/artistsforhire;
- Posting pictures on stock photo sites and apps;
- And posting your offerings to platforms such as Fiverr (which has graphics and design listed as a category!), Upwork, TaskRabbit, PhotoSesh, and the platforms listed in this post on platforms for selling art from Art + Marketing – https://artplusmarketing.com/the-10-websites-to-sell-art-online-in-2019-6a37158984b4.
Note: There are many more out there depending on your niche. So look around and join relevant communities on social media if you need some inspiration.
3. Throw in Some Microtasking
I love microtask jobs! Why? They are super quick. But believe me, they can add up. A personal favorite of mine is the Job Spotter app.
Personally, I love having some extra Amazon gift card money and helping people find out about local jobs. P.S. see my post on how to earn Amazon gift cards for free with apps.
Also, see my post on microtask apps – 5 apps that reward you to do small tasks as well as my post on 6 more microtask jobs online options.
4. Try Something New OR Get Some Exercise
Yes, I put these together. I tried something new with the food delivery side. See my post on DoorDash vs Postmates 2019 review. This was new for me. PLUS, a bunch of exercise. Of course, it will depend on what vehicle you use. But, I think with whatever you choose, you will probably be moving around more than you think.
It is also fun to try out a new job, even if it is just on the side. Trying out something new is fun and with trying out something new that makes you money, it’s a win-win in my book. For example, I recently tried selling printables and print on demand products on Etsy. While I am new, it was still a cool experience to learn so I am already happy.
Another idea is to try out some dog walking. See my Rover review for more on that platform.
Also, check out my master list of ways to make money for some more suggestions because it really depends on you and what you enjoy.
For me, it is fun to get out and try something a little different. AND the money really does add up.
5. Do Some Fun Market Research and UserTesting
See my post on do you like talking? (yeah me too) here are some apps to share your opinion for this. I love apps like dscout and methinks. It is so much side job fun, the money is just the extra part.
But there are tons of user testing platforms and focus groups that can rake in some serious cash. Bonus: they have been so much fun for me! I love seeing these new prototypes and products before they hit market and have a chance to offer my opinion.
