Building off my last post on 5 microtask apps, here are some more microtask online options to earn via quick tasks.

So microtask online options are usually apps or websites that pay your for short micro jobs or tasks. These can be great when you have a little downtime. Maybe you are bored or just want to go in every now and then to make a little here and there (when you have the time but without the major time commitment).

So here are 6 more microtask apps or online options to earn some extra money with via quick tasks.

1. Qmee Surveys (App)

  • Availability: download the app on the App Store or Google Play.

    • Once you sign up, you can then share your referral link to earn more for referring to friends.
  • Rundown: Complete short surveys.
    • The time estimate per survey and payout is provided to you up front.
    • Time for survey? Anywhere between 3-20 minutes (roughly). I have found many short ones which I like since I can quickly do them when I have a few minutes.
    • Payment amount is roughly from about 10 cents to $1.50.
  • Other ways to make money: watch ads and use savings offers.
  • Payout and Payment Method: You can request to cash out to PayPal once your balance reaches $1.00. Payments come through to your PayPal account FAST from my experience.
  • My thoughts? The short surveys let you do this off and on when you have time. The low balance threshold for cashing out makes it easy to do and earn a few dollars right away if you want. The speed that you receive the payout to your PayPal account (upon requesting it – so it is not automatic), is fantastic. This can truly be a quick way to earn on the go with short tasks.

2. Voxpopme

  • Availability: download the app on the App Store or Google Play.

    • Share your link upon sign up to earn from friend referrals too!
  • Rundown: Complete surveys (unpaid) to for increased chances at being eligible to record short (30-60 second) selfie videos. For these paid videos, you answer various questions on topics such as news events, political issues, brand reviews, morning routines etc.
  • Good news about the survey questions that come up to help match you with a paid video opportunity? They are quick – typically a few multiple choice questions each.
  • Payment: $0.50 cents per approved video.
    • Videos say if they are paid or not and the amount of payment.
    • Just for fun videos also come up which are unpaid.
  • Payout Threshold: $15 account minimum balance required for payout.
    • Note: videos tend to get approved very fast. 30 minutes – 1 day, from my experience.
  • Payment Method: PayPal.
    • Request a payout once you are over the $15 minimum. Timing can take a week (give or take some).
  • My thoughts? At first it felt awkward. But I soon got more videos – often one every day. They can easily be completed wherever you are and are often on fun subjects. Quick tasks that will add up to money over time.

3. ZapSurveys

  • Availability: Get the app on App Store or on Google Play.

  • Rundown:
    • Complete surveys. Tap Research and Peanut Labs are the types on here.
    • Get rewards based off location. Note: this requires location services to be on. Typically, if you walk by a participating store, it will pop up with a quick ad. You then get 8 cents and that’s it.
    • Daily Check Ins: Check in each day and look at a short ad for a few cents.
      • Note that if you log-in for a certain number of days in a row, the amount increases, but also you can earn an extra amount for maintaining your streak.
    • Complete Zap Goals: for example, you may be asked to earn $1 from Peanut Labs surveys, increase balance by $3, invite 2 friends, check in for 5 days, turn on location services, etc. What do you get? For each completed goal you get a monetary amount and a certain number of “Zap”. The Zap is used toward the Zap Goals reward. For example, if you reach 500 Zap, you get another $10.
  • Payment Threshold: Your account balance must be $25 to cash out.
  • Payment Method: PayPal. Timing was less than a week for me, but it could be more or less for you.
My thoughts?
  • So…
  • Turn off location services or data if the location based rewards drain your phone too much. But with the surveys, plus daily check in, plus goals, it can be an easy way to just simply open the app up on a daily basis (collect the daily check in amount), and then do more if you want to.
  • Microtasks are really an option here. The more you put in the more you get. But slow and steady can work as well.

4. MTurk

  • Note this can take time. Especially for non-US citizens.
Rundown:

On MTurk, you do Human Intelligence Tasks (“HITs”). These include short research tasks, surveys, data validation, google searches, data entry, logic games, and many, many more tasks. Pay greatly ranges from 1 cent to $15+. Time also ranges a lot.

  • Some are much longer than others.
  • But some you can find that are MUCH shorter.
  • I would recommend getting some qualifications. For example, request the Adult Content one, which is processed pretty fast. Some tasks on there are pretty short (think 30 seconds) and not as adult content as you may be thinking. At least from my experience.

Find other qualifications: You can also search all HITs, including ones you are not qualified for, and see if some require some qualification that you can request or take a test to qualify for.

Get a lot of accepted HITs: Note that the more HITs you complete, the more options you will have for available HITs. Also, better paying ones.

Importance of rejection/acceptance rate:
  • When you start out, keeping your rejection rate VERY low is important.
  • To find out more on that, do a google search for mturk forums.
  • Many of these have daily HIT threads and information of what is available every day. So, they, contain a bit more information on each days’ HITs and the requester statistics (how frequently they reject or not).

Scripts: Also, you can get scripts installed onto your browser to find the best HITs for you more easily.

Device Needed: Many HITs CAN be completed on your cell phone or tablet. Some require a laptop or desktop.
