Three Apps for Investing Made Simple

Apps for Investing – A Simplified Method to Start Investing Today With These Apps

investing apps

Even if you are already actively investing, these apps for investing are a way that you may want to check out given the simplified nature of them.

Note: I am not recommending that you do invest nor am I specifically endorsing an investment method. I am only listing apps that I know of and that I have read positive reviews on. In my opinion, I believe everyone should read a few reviews and decide for themselves prior to investing their money via a platform or through a specific company or bank. It is not my place to comment on anyone else’s personal financial situation.

That being said, here are three apps to check out.

Three Apps for Investing

1. Robinhood

  • Available: get the app on the App Store or on Google Play.
  • Referral Program? Yes.
    • Use my referral code and we both get a free stock: https://share.robinhood.com/charlol27.
    • Share yours with others after you sign up and if they sign up, then you both get a free stock.
    • The referral program is allowed for a total of up to $300 in value.
    • The stocks free are random, but there is a greater chance of the lower value ones. However, there is still a chance of obtaining a good stock for free so that is a neat feature.
  • Thoughts: This app has been picked as one of the editorial favorites in the App Store.
    • Admittedly, the name gave me some pause, but I have read a lot of good reviews about this app. It implements quite a few security features as well, which I like.
    • It also has an option to get into investing in cryptocurrency. For ways to earn cryptocurrency, check out my post on that here.

<note: I have been told this app may ask for your bank account password which I do not agree with. I am not getting into financial industry specifics but a quick search can give pertinent information on the registration of these apps. I am in no way endorsing them or suggesting anyone use anything asking for personal information unless they personally feel comfortable. And talk to experts if you do not.>

2. Acorns

  • Available: get the app on the App Store or on Google Play.
  • Referral Program? Yes.
  • Thoughts: This is an app that you likely see featured in many, many ads if you use other money making type apps, or just in general it is featured a lot in ads on various apps.
    • The idea here is to save spare change and invest it. It makes this approach a bit more streamlined since you can do both from within the app.
  • HUGE NOTE: I do not think this is a bad app but personally have not used it. Why? because you have to link a bank account to just create an account, which is not cool with me. YOU should decide for yourself. I’m hesitant to mention it on this fact but am because have seen otherwise good reviews for some time now. BUT with this note because it’s not something I would do. It is up to you if you will.

3. Stash

  • Available: get the app on the App Store or on Google Play.
  • Referral Program? Yes. Read its terms. My referral code is: https://get.stashinvest.com/charlottmlk3.
  • Thoughts: Again, this one is also one that you have probably seen advertised a lot if you use money making apps or generally pay attention to the ads you see. I am not saying that this app or the Acorn app being advertised are bad things. There are ads for practically everything out there. I am mentioning it because it may be something many have heard of already.
  • This app has a tagline of “Investing, Simplified.” I think that is a great approach and love that there are developers out there that are helping people invest and save in a simple manner.
  • NOTE: the first month is free with this app. After that, there is a fee.

Final Thoughts

I am a bit skeptical when it comes to anything that wants money, so it took me some time to warm up to these apps. As such, I have been following reviews and news on them and think these three have proven themselves and enough time has passed that I feel comfortable mentioning them now.

I’m probably a bit more skeptical than others and have a big thing against spending money. However, everyone is different. I see value in spending some to make some. It just is not always my preferred approach. 🙂

Let me know if there are other apps you would like to see listed. Or if there are other apps for investing that you have tried.

This is not an all-inclusive list. If there are other apps you have tried or are curious about, leave a comment or contact me via my contact page.
