Minimum Balance Amount Needed for Cash Back

The first category is for those that you get cash back towards a balance. You only get paid out once you meet the required minimum.

With these, you usually need to activate the deal first. Some have online, while others will have online and in-store deals. One reason why you may need to activate the deal first is because they can change pretty frequently (e.g., one week it is 5% off and the next week it is 1% for a given store).

1. Dosh (App)

Signing-up: Link a credit card or debit card using this referral link and confirm your email address for a welcome referral bonus of $5: https://link.dosh.cash/CHARLOL1

How to use: Link the card you plan to use. Then you will earn cash-back when you make purchases at participating businesses using your linked card. Most of these are in store purchases. You can view a list to see the ones nearby that are participating.

Where do you get cash back? Primarily, grocery stores, convenience stores, and some restaurants.

How much do you get? It ranges from 1-10% back off of the purchase price from what I have seen.

  • The percent cash back you receive can vary as the deal for a store may change over time. However, you instantly can get a push notification telling you how much you saved right after the purchase.

Redeeming: When you make an eligible purchase at a participating store, the cash-back amount is added to your Dosh wallet balance.

  • In order to transfer this out to a personal account/receive the cash, you must reach an overall wallet balance of $25. Then you can cash out to PayPal (among a few other options).

2. Drop (App)

Sign-up: download the app using this referral code or link to start off with a welcome bonus:

How to Use: Link a Card. You can earn points by making purchases using that card and through bonus offers. The bonus offers may include trying out an app or signing up for a service. For these, you can expect a lot more points. However, they may take a bit of time.

  • For the purchases at stores, you typically see these rather quick.

Redeeming: You earn points (versus a dollar amount). The points can then be redeemed for various gift cards.

3. SavingStar (App and Website)

“Hassle-free grocery rebates. No clipping, no printing, no mailing.” – App

Tap the Redeem tab to get details for how to redeem from a certain store. After redeeming, it can take up to 22 days to process (although the app notes that most savings take 2-10 days to post). The savings are then added to your SavingStar account.

How to Save Money with Apps and Websites that List Out Deals, Coupons, and Offers

1. Find&Save (App and Website)

Starting-Up: Scroll through available offers and coupons at participating stores. Add to list and redeem them when you shop.

Navigating and Finding the Offers & Deals You Want: Offers, Deals and Ads are divided into a few categories to help you navigate: 1)Featured; 2) Stores; 3) Weekly Ads; 4) Brands; and 5) Malls (generally, shopping centers).

Add deals and coupons you are interested in to your in-app list. I would do this before shopping so that you have them all ready to go!

  • They look just like regular coupons you would clip out of an weekly flyer. Take it in and confirm with the store. Available for many types of local businesses. Coupons and deals offer incentives such as a percent off certain products, categories or stores, buy one & get one free or get one 50% off, a dollar amount off, etc.

Since you use these at participating stores, I believe the offer or deal should be applied at the point of sale (from what I have seen).
