Easily Save by Using Chrome Browser Extensions
More Ways to Save – Easily Save with Adding Chrome Extensions for Cash-Back Deals
Hate looking for deals and coupons and whatnot? No worries. Easily save with Chrome Browser Extensions for Cash-Back platforms.
You can install these plug-ins and let them do the work for you by showing a little alert when visiting a site that has an active deal through that application. This is really an easy way to save. Just by using some handy Chrome extensions for Cash-Back deals. These are free and can be downloaded to your Chrome browser.
A lot of apps and sites with cash-back deals feature Chrome plug-in extensions for your browser which let you get cash back EASILY.
Why Use these???
Why is this so great? Well you can install the plug-in/extension to your Chrome browser. Then, when online shopping, if you land on a site with a deal, a message pops up alerting you to that deal. This really makes it SOOOO easy. Just carry on with your everyday online shopping and forget the hassle of searching for deals. These plug-ins will notify you if there’s one available when you visit whichever site you are shopping on (which can include mobile websites and TV providers as well!).
Five (Updated) Cash-Back and Deal Chrome Extensions to Save Money Easily While Online Shopping
Here are four sites (and apps) that feature plug-in extensions for the Google Chrome browser. If you do not have this browser, you can download it here.
1. RetailMeNot Genie
- I have mentioned this app and site in prior posts, as well as mentioned it’s plug-in feature in another post. See the first post on saving via cash-back apps for more details on the site and app. However, I only mentioned the plug-in part in a post briefly.
- Rundown: This extension is pretty nice. It is the first one I added and is what got me into looking into other types of similar plug-in extensions because of how easy it makes things.
- I know it initially may sound like a pop up annoying feature, but it has not been the case in my experience.
- Try it out yourself and you will see how unobtrusive it is. If you do not like it, well just delete it!
- I have not been a huge fan of this website and app. I typically find searching through the deals takes too long and not all of them work.

- Plug-in Views?? The plug-in though has been great. It only pops up when you get to a site that has a potential deal through RetailMeNot. It says what it is so you can choose to either activate it or not (depending on what you are planning on buying. For example, if the deal is for a new customer and you are not one, it is not worth trying to activate it).
- Tip: After you activate the deal, try not to leave the site or this may mess things up.
- Usually an email is later sent stating that a deal was activated on x site and if you meet the terms and conditions, the cash-back or deal amount will be reflected in your RetailMeNot account. You can create an account on the website here or on the app that is available on the App Store and on Google Play.
- Chrome Extension: Get the RetailMeNot Genie Chrome extension here.
2. EBates
- I have discussed this app/website in a prior post. Visit it for more information on how the app and website work to get you cash back on purchases.
- Note: the referral program has changed since my earlier post. Now when you refer a friend, once they spend $25, then you get $25 and they get $10.
- Use my invite link for the $10 bonus.
- The EBates extension automatically finds and applies cash back deals at check-out. It is similar to RetailMeNot Genie in that it first shows a little pop-up message in the top right corner of a page when visiting a page that has a cash back deal available through EBates. Click activate to activate that cash-back deal.
- Chrome Extension: Get the EBates Chrome extension here.
3. Mr. Rebates
- Mr. Rebates is another cash back app and site.
- Availability: Sign up on the webpage or via the app which is available on the App Store and Google Play.
- Referral Program? YES. For each referral, you receive 20% of the referred person’s earned credit. ALSO, the person you refer gets $5 by using your referral link. Click below to use mine! Make sure to use it when signing up.
- Rundown: Rebates earned via Mr. Rebates generally take 1-3 business days to reflect in your account. It can sometimes take up to 30 days.
More on Mr. Rebates
- How do I shop at a Mr. Rebates’ store and earn cash back? This is taken straight from the FAQs as I believe it describes it well: “To get a cash back rebate, click on your desired store link and make your purchase in that same click session. Your click-through from Mr. Rebates activates a code in the store’s shopping cart that will make sure that you are credited with the rebate. Each order from a participating store requires a unique click-through from Mr. Rebates. If you are making multiple orders then make sure you have a separate store click for each corresponding order. Please note that rebates do not show up in a store’s shopping cart. Rebates are credited a few days later in your Mr. Rebates’ account.”
- Overview: If you visit a store with a cash back deal from Mr. Rebates, a slider will pop up to alert you. Click activate to activate the cash back deal.
- Extension: Get the Mr. Rebates Chrome extension here.
- Payment:
- Method: You can redeem your cash-out rebate account balance via check, gift card or PayPal.
- NOTE: If you live outside of the US or Canada, your only payment option is PayPal. You will need to confirm that your country allows you to set up a PayPal account.
- Minimum Rebate Balance for Payment: $10.
- Time to Receive Payment: You will receive payment the first of the month following the month that you request it.
- Method: You can redeem your cash-out rebate account balance via check, gift card or PayPal.
4. Cently
- Another similar savings extension that applies coupons (when available through a partnership with Cently) at check out.
- Extension: Get the Chrome extension for Cently here.
- I have not used this one much yet. The link for downloading the Chrome plug-in extension that I included are to the reviews, which are pretty favorable. I will update once I have more experience.
5. Amazon Assistant
- This is a great tool for extra discounts, price tracking, and more.
- Download it or learn more about it here.
- Pay SPECIAL attention to what it offers around Amazon Prime Day and other big sale days.
NOTE
- So a few of these will have little boxes pop up on the top right of the screen when a deal is available. If there are multiple plug-ins with deals, then you may only see one, as it can cover the view of the others.
- You can click no for the deal and see if there are others.
- This way you know which one is the best and so you know which one to activate.
- After finding that out, just go back to the site and click no to the deals that you do not want and activate the best one.
- For example, I had eBates pop up offering 2% cash back on one site. I clicked no, but then Mr. Rebates showed (as it was behind it) and said only 1.5% cash back. I clicked no. I then just came back to the page and clicked activate for eBates since I knew that was the better deal. There is no way of knowing which plug-ins will offer the best cash back deals for every site. It really varies. So give yourself a few options!
- Enjoy! Let me know if you have any others you prefer or your experience with these.
