Cash App Review – December 2018

Cash App Review – Review of the Payment Transfer App by Square – 2018

This is a short post on my Cash App review as of late 2018. It is my initial thoughts on using the Cash App brought to us by Square.

So, read this post for a rundown of this cool payment transfer app that *bonus* can also get you some savings. Because here is my cash app review as of late 2018…(and cash app referral link and cash app referral code!)

What is Cash App?

  • Availability: Get the app via the App Store here or via Google Play here. OR use my link to just get there easily…
  • CASH APP REFERRAL CODE – Welcome bonus / Referral bonus for Cash App: use my link – https://cash.app/app/FDLSSJB and by clicking on it on your phone, it will give you a download option.
    • AND a welcome bonus of $5 once you make your first transfer.
    • Alternatively, use my code: FDLSSJB.
  • Rundown:
    • This is a payment app.
    • What differentiates it? Basically, you can keep your name a bit more private (say first name and last initial).
    • You can also create a cashtag code. What is this? Well you create it and then it can be used to give to others as a way for them to send you money. Using just that code.
    • Additionally, you can request for a free debit card to use your Cash App balance AND get discounts via the app’s relationships. Awesome right?
    • Payments via cash and Bitcoin are available.
  • Cashing out:
    • Use your free debit card, cash out to your bank account, keep your balance to pay someone (say a friend for coffee), or buy and sell some bitcoin (if you have this option enabled – see the app’s terms for more on that).
    • How fast is it?
      • Well for cashing out to a bank account, allow a few business days.
      • However, If you link your debit card (I do not believe this can be a Cash App card), then you can pay a small fee to get it transferred instantly.
        • This can take up to an hour but for me has been very quick.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros:
    • First off, the privacy features are unlike other payment apps I have seen.
    • Brought to you by Square which has been around for some time.
    • Additionally, it has a lot of features and policies I have looked into that make me trust it. And I am a hard one to get someone’s trust.
    • And you can pay people back for things very quickly and easily without giving away your identity.
    • Fees???
      • The fee to transfer your cash balance to your bank account is small and can be worth the fast speed.
      • But, the regular transfer comes with no fees. Just expect 1-3 business days for it to process.
    • Also, you can get a free debit card that lets you use your Cash App balance at select retailers for discounts!
    • Finally, it is generally a VERY easy app to use.
  • Cons:
    • The only con I see so far is not everyone knows about it yet.
    • BUT if you refer them once you get it, then you both can get a referral bonus.

Final Thoughts

Cash App Review by Square 2018 & my final thoughts. (Although for you to really learn more I think you should try it out!)

This is a cool app and payment transfer or money transfer apps are becoming a bigger part of today’s society. I would recommend looking into it to get a feel for what it has to offer. Also, you may like the $cashtag feature but you may just like the privacy it offers over other payment transfer apps.

After all, does someone really need your full name, email address, and phone number to give you a payment for something say you want to sell online via one of these apps on my clean out your closet – 5 platforms to sell on post or just elsewhere?

So, if you are looking for a debit card for free that can give you some discounts too, then this may be another reason to check this app out.

P.S.
